The Bradley Method will teach the husband to assume the role of Coach by actively participating during pregnancy, labor and delivery. The Bradley Method teaches natural childbirth as a simple, safe way of giving birth without medical interventions. The goal is to avoid drugs during pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding, unless absolutely necessary. Starting at the woman's 5th month of pregnancy, the couples will engage in 12 consecutive, weekly classes until birth-focusing on nutrition, exercises to prepare the woman's body for labor and delivery, natural ways to cope with the pain and discomfort, breastfeeding, and much more. Taught by Ami Speigel, newly certified, who also gave birth to her two children using Bradley, breastfed them over a year each, and has a degree in Early Childhood Education. Classes will be held Thursday nights at from 6:30-9:00 pm starting on March 25th, 2010 Looking for up to five couples who are due in early to mid July to complete a full 12 week session. Cost is $325 per couple and that includes a workbook, handouts, lending library of books, videos to watch, and a spacious room in the heart of the north shore.
